We still put food directly on the twin's high chair trays at this point, mainly because they throw everything. EVERYTHING. Therefore, by not giving them plates and bowls we eliminate one less flying object at mealtime. After all, it's all we can do to dodge the silverware, cups and food... regardless of what we say or do.
I made homemade applesauce (not nearly as good as Grandma Davison's though) this weekend with Lodi apples that I picked up at an apple orchard Friday. So, I decided to brave it - I put bibs on them and gave them each a bowl. It went pretty well and only the spoon came flying... not the bowl. Though Oliver did enjoy filling his spoon with applesauce and shaking it wildly around as it hit all corners of the room, but technically that was flinging and not throwing. Sigh...we're getting there...
