Boys being boys...

We have a large white pine in our backyard and under that pine is a virtual play land for the kids. I remember telling Steve last year that we needed to remove a few low hanging branches and let the kids play under there. So we did. And they do. They love it. They call it the tree house. They dig and arrange. They section it off when there are lots of them. They seem to have a blast. A dirty, messy, sweaty blast.

They have come up with some pretty funny things over the summer... most of which I have forgotten exactly what it was they said or asked (which I why I need to blog more...grrr!), but I do recall one that just happened. Actually it happened when Steve and Mike (Christopher's dad) were watching the boys. Apparently they asked Steve and Mike to dig them a basement. Steve and Mike both responded that it wasn't necessarily a good plan to do that. Christopher, a persistent little guy, kept on Mike saying "Yeah, but you can do it right? You can make us one. How about you just dig a small one..."

We love seeing the boys digging, exploring and having fun in the dirt while using their wild imaginations. Isn't that what being a kid is all about?

I am jealous! I wish I still had an imagination like a kid.
